20 YEARS OF FRIENDSHIP AND CULTURAL BRIDGES
The Foreigners’ Council, established in 2004 under the umbrella of Alanya Municipality as the first of its kind in Turkey, celebrated its 20th anniversary with a ceremony held at the Alanya Cultural Center.
The event was attended by Alanya District Governor Fatih Ürkmezer, Deputy Mayor Murat Levent Koçak, ALTSO President Eray Erdem, Foreigners’ Council President Abdullah Karaoğlu, and many guests. The program began with a documentary showcasing the council’s 20 years of achievements.
Deputy Mayor Koçak expressed gratitude, stating, “I would like to thank Hasan Sipahioğlu and Fahri Yiğit, who established this structure, for strengthening Alanya’s multicultural identity. Alanya has hosted six civilizations in the past and continues to build an international city culture today.”
A CULTURE OF TOLERANCE AND FRIENDSHIP
District Governor Ürkmezer remarked, “For 20 years, the Foreigners’ Council has brought different cultures together, setting a remarkable example of peace and tolerance. The council has significantly enhanced Alanya’s international identity and cultural richness.”
Foreigners’ Council President Karaoğlu added, “New residents of Alanya have now become true Alanyans. They generate ideas and projects for Alanya and Turkey and promote the region wherever they go,” expressing his gratitude to those who contributed to the council’s success.
COLORFUL CELEBRATION PROGRAM
The ceremony concluded with international dance and music performances, followed by the presentation of certificates of appreciation to council members.
