Four important cultural heritage elements unique to Alanya have been included in the Ministry of Culture and Tourism’s Intangible Cultural Heritage of Türkiye National Inventory. As a result of the meticulous work carried out by Alanya Municipality over many years, the city’s cultural values have been officially recorded.
Within the scope of studies conducted with the contributions of the Alanya Research Center and Sedat Çolak, a Board Member of the Alanya Culture, Art and Tourism Foundation (ALSAV), two traditional Yörük games were added to the National Inventory. The Aksır Game was registered under serial number 1269, while the Uçan Koçan Game was included under serial number 611. It was stated that these games, which have been passed down from generation to generation for centuries, represent significant values reflecting Alanya’s Yörük culture and collective memory.
Efforts carried out by Alanya Municipality to preserve culinary heritage and pass it on to future generations were also met with recognition at the national level. In this context, Gülüklü Soup was included in the National Inventory with serial number 1658, and Öksüz Halva with serial number 1523. Thus, Alanya’s distinctive flavors have taken their place not only on dining tables but also in official cultural heritage records.
In a statement made by Alanya Municipality, it was noted that efforts to protect, document, and transmit local values to future generations would continue with determination. The statement emphasized that this process—ranging from traditional games to cuisine and cultural life—has highlighted Alanya’s cultural richness as a registered and recognized achievement.
